LCG- Doug Winnail is reacting to our serialized weekly posts on “Personal Salvation” and “Ecclesiastical Authority” by promoting organizational idolatry!
Because they cannot refute the facts and doctrines presented on this site and at TheShiningLight; they are demanding that the brethren just follow them in whatever they do or teach, and refrain from asking questions: thereby setting themselves up as corporate idols and idols of men! Thus fulfilling the Matthew 24 prophecy of Jesus Christ and the warning of Jude.
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men [to test the loyalty of the brethren to God], turning the grace [mercy] of our God into lasciviousness [license to sin], and denying the only Lord God [by paying lip service to God, but claiming all moral authority for themselves], and our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Humility—Key to Unity
King David wrote, “How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” (Psalm 133:1). The Apostle Paul urged Christians to “walk worthy” of your calling “with all lowliness and gentleness… endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1–3). He stated that the work of the ministry is to edify (build up) the body (the Church) “till we all come to the unity of the faith” (Ephesians 4:12–13). Paul also told the contentious Corinthians that they should be “perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10). In order to grow together in unity, we need to understand what causes contentions that disrupt unity. The Scriptures reveal that pride is an underlying cause of contentions (Proverbs 13:10), and that pride will contribute to a person’s downfall and destruction (Proverbs 16:18). Insisting on our own way also causes dissentions and strife (James 4:1). However, humility will eventually bring a person honor (Proverbs 15:33); 29:23), and true humility will promote peace and unity (James 3:13–18). Just as Jesus Christ humbled Himself and followed His Father’s instructions (Philippians 2:5–9), as Christians we must be subject to government (within and without the Church) and not resist authority (Romans 13:1–).
The HEAD of the government of God is God the Father and when any person or organization goes contrary to the Word of God they forfeit all moral authority! Our FIRST loyalty and spiritual foundation is to the Head of God’s government; God the Father (Luk 6:46-49) and not to any individual or corporate entity!
Saying that because Christ was loyal to God the Father the brethren should be loyal to men: is a shocking appalling perversion of the scripture! NO, NO, NO; a million times NO!
Jesus Christ was loyal to God and lived by every Word of God the Father as our example, that we should also be loyal to God and live by every Word of God the Father! Living as Christ lived, living by every Word of God (1 John 2:6).
Yes men can be great helps IF they focus us on living by every Word of God; but they can be a terrible evil if they begin to focus the brethren on following them as idols and obeying them in place of obeying God!
The Holy Scriptures commands us to put our trust in God:
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths
We are not to trust men: Psalm 146:3 Put not your trust in princes [human leaders], nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
In spiritual matters we are to: 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things [by God’s Word]; hold fast that which is good [by God’s Word].
As we learn to exercise true Godly humility and treat each other with love and respect (Romans 12:10–18), we will promote unity within the body of Christ.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail”
Doug Winnail is teaching the idolatry of ministerial infallibility!
The humility that Solomon taught was first and primarily; a humility before God to submit to and to live by every Word of God.
Today LCG [and the other organizations] faces many questions which they are unwilling to answer. They cling to obvious errors because it is they who lack the humility to submit to the Word of God; and then they accuse the brethren of lacking humility for questioning the about their contradictions of God’s Word!
LCG is reacting to my “Personal Salvation” and “Ecclesiastical Authority” books [which are being serialized in weekly posts at this site] by using scripture out of its subject context, to deceive about its true meaning. Doug writes: as Christians we must be subject to government (within and without the Church) and not resist authority (Romans 13:1–2). In saying this he is referring to corporate church authority and equating submission to fallible men as being the same as submitting to God.
This begs the question: Why did Doug not submit to the church authority of the WCG and its properly appointed leader? Why did he not submit to the Global board?
His words contradict his own actions [there is a word for this], and they also contradict the scriptures which command us to be subject to God and to follow men ONLY ” in the Lord” (Eph 6:1), has he not read 2 Thess 1:8, Acts 17:10-11, 2 Ti 3:16-17, and 1 Cor 11:1. We are to obey God above all else and we are to follow men ONLY as they are consistent with the Word of God.
Has LCG forgotten the lesson of the many apostasies of the priesthood? or the lessons of king Amaziah, king Joash and king Saul, that a good start does not necessarily mean a good finish?
Beware and repent of idolizing fallible men in place of living by every Word of God!
Have they forgotten the question of the apostles? Acts 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
Doug writes: Insisting on our own way also causes dissentions and strife (James 4:1). He obviously means that the brethren are not to question the corporate leadership; when James was clearly meaning that insisting on our own ways instead of living by God’s Word separates us from God: which is what Doug, LCG and most of the corporate organizations are doing.
The corporate leadership are going their own ways contrary to the Word of God and then accusing the brethren who are trying to be faithful to God, of their own sin.
Doug and most COG corporate leadership folks are separated from God (Is 59:2), because they are not humble enough before God to turn from past errors and go onward to live by every Word of God. They reject the truth themselves and they are fighting to entice the brethren to follow them in their sins and turn them away from desiring to live by the Word of God to exalt idols of men.
Doug also misuses the Psalms writing: King David wrote, “How good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” (Psalm 133:1). implying organizational unity when David really meant unity with GOD!
Doug then writes: He stated that the work of the ministry is to edify (build up) the body (the Church) “till we all come to the unity of the faith” (Ephesians 4:12–13). Conveniently replacing unity with God which is what is meant by unity of faith: with organizational unity!
This is cleverly taken out of context to promote organizational unity! See the meaning a few verses later: Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ
We are to be built up into the likeness of Christ who lived by EVERY Word of God the Father! For the full context see our Ephesians study here.
Watch out for the clever manipulation of the scriptures by minds intent on subverting the brethren away from true godliness and into corporate idolatry!
