Be Ye Holy For I Am Holy

Holiness means “of or pertaining to the God who cannot sin”, therefore holiness is purity and freedom from sin.

In religious terms leaven is a type of sin which must never be present in anything pertaining to God as in the sacrifices or the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread symbols.

All sacrifices represent Jesus Christ the Lamb of God who was and is free from any taint of sin, therefore no leaven may be present in any sacrifice.

Rejecting the eating of leaven during the seven day Feast pictures rejecting sin and removing sin from our lives, and the eating unleavened bread pictures eating or  taking into ourselves and  internalizing the perfect sinless nature of God.

The unleavened bread being broken at Passover pictures the broken body and sufferings of Christ the Lamb of God for us. But the eating of that unleavened bread pictures taking Christ into ourselves and internalizing the perfect purity from any sin which is the perfect sinless nature of God.

ALL scriptures were inspired by the one who became Jesus Christ who taught only what God the Father told him to teach.

Eating unleavened bread on Passover and for the following seven days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread pictures internalizing the purity from sin of Jesus Christ and God the Father; and replacing our sinful nature pictured by leaven, with the sinless [having no leaven of sin] nature of the Lamb of God and of God the Father

Wine is a symbol of blood which is life, and  the wine being poured out at sacrifices picturing the pouring out of the life of the Lamb of God for repented sin.

Life is in the blood and this pouring out of blood symbolized by the pouring out of wine shows the pouring out of the life of the Lamb of God for all sincerely repented sin.

Wine is to be poured out at all sacrifices, yet on Passover the wine is to be drunk, showing that the pouring out wine with sacrifices  pictures the pouring out of the life of the Lamb of God  for us.

Actually drinking the Passover wine, reveals that through the giving of that life we are then cleansed from sin and may then drink into ourselves the nature of Jesus Christ and God the Father – Christ now dwelling in the sincerely repentant through the agency of God’s Holy Spirit – so that through Him dwelling in us, we can put away the old sinful person to walk as he walked and to live as Christ lives, in perfect purity from any sin, true godliness and holiness.

God’s Word commands that the sinner be expelled from the congregations; which is an act of love and not meanness. This action is an example of the so called “Tough Love” that many occasionally use with their own children today, only applied in a different way as is necessary for mature adults.

It is strange that many will use the “Tough Love” principle from time to time with their own children when there is a serious problem;  and then object to the scriptural version designed to save habitual sinners who are the deeply loved children of God.

True godly love and mercy is to expel the wicked from the congregations as God commands, so that they will understand that they need to take their sins seriously and are then motivated to truly sincerely repent and change their behaviors.

The whole issue of clean and unclean; and the idea of leaven as a type of sin, which left unexpunged pollutes the whole body; is about not allowing the sinner to remain in the assembly as Paul clearly points out.

Expelling the habitually wicked is an act of immense love, intended to bring the sinner to sincere repentance; while at the same time protecting the flock from their bad example, and from a bad reputation.

The COG groups think nothing of wrongly disfellowshipping anyone if they ask inconvenient questions:  When they should  be obeying God and correcting the sinner  [which by and large they do not],  by giving him some private time alone to address his sins seriously.

Removing the sinner is not demonstrating a lack of love, it is the exact opposite.  It is a demonstration of love for God’s teachings, love for the flock and love for the sinner, to make him aware of how serious his sin is, so that he can then take the necessary action.

It is the misuse of disfellowshipment for internal political discipline, to avoid any serious questioning of evil doing in the ministry, that has given this godly biblical  corrective method a bad reputation.

The sinner is to be forgiven the instant that he realizes the enormity of the need to change and sincerely repents.

If he sincerely repents immediately after being rebuked for sin, when he realizes what he has done, then there is no need to expel him; but if this sin is done not just once but several times and he is warned several times and does not stop the sin; he needs to be told to take time out for his good and the good of the flock, to consider the seriousness of his actions, in the hope that he will consider the matter carefully and sincerely repent making a commitment go and sin no more.

In the Mosaic Covenant they were commanded to kill such sinners, but in the New Covenant we are to merely oust the habitual sinner from the body; and if they sincerely repent and change, we are to welcome them back with joy.

In the Mosaic Covenant, the whole nation was the people of God, the Ekklesia of God of its day; and was expected to live by every Word of God.  The New Covenant consists of people personally called out by God the Father into a spiritual nation or Ekklesia of people who live by every Word of God on both the physical and the spiritual level.

1 Peter 2:9   But ye [The called out into the New Covenant are called to be ] are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar [a special] people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;  2:10 Which in time past were not a people [a nation], but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

How much more is the spiritual Ekklesia, who are supposed to have God’s Spirit, expected to keep the law in both the letter and the spirit?

The spiritual Ekklesia are commanded to be pure and holy, as God is pure and holy to the highest spiritual level; to be free from all sin.  If God commanded that people must die for their sins under the Mosaic Covenant; why is it so surprising that God commands to eject sinners from the assembly of the New Covenant?

We are to reject the sinner from the assembly as an act of compassionate mercy and godly love!

First so that the sinner wakes up to the enormity of the need to repent and make a change in his/her life; Second to protect the assembly, especially the spiritually weak and the novices, from his sinful example;  Third, to protect the LIGHT [example] of the Ekklesia, that our example for the world will be one of godliness and not of wickedness.

Removing the sinner is not demonstrating a lack of love, it is the exact opposite.  It is a demonstration of love for God’s teachings, love for the flock and love for the sinner, to make him aware of how serious his sin is, so that he can then take the necessary action.

The sinner is forgiven the instant that he realizes the enormity of the need to change and sincerely repents.  If he does that immediately after the sin, as he thinks about what he has done, then there is no need to expel him; but if this sin is done not just once but several times and he has been repeatedly warned; he needs to be told to take time out for his own good and the good of the flock, to consider the seriousness of his actions, in the hope that he will sincerely repent and go and sin no more.

The Word of God and especially God’s Commandments, laws, statutes, precepts, judgments and ordinances is to be diligently taught in the assemblies:  Which is NOT being done in the congregations today.

2 Timothy 4:1   I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;  4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

4:3  For the time will come [has already come today] when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;  4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Sound doctrine and faithfulness to live by every Word of God must be diligently taught by the shepherds; and those who continue in sin or false doctrine, are to be rejected from the congregation if they continue in sin after the second warning.

Titus 3:10    A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;  3:11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

We are to mark out and avoid those who turn away from the Word of God!  The condemnation of bringing division, is about bringing division between God and man; which all the major assemblies do today, as they insert themselves between the brethren and God and teach the people to sin.  These organizations divide man from God, teaching men  to follow themselves.

Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned [from the Word of God.]; and avoid them.  16:18  For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

First they make the people spiritually simple by NOT teaching sound doctrine, and then they deceive the brethren into idolizing themselves, and so turn the brethren away from sound doctrine and the Word of God into the sin of exalting men above the Word of God!

Isn’t it strange that they call the weekly Sabbath Day holy and then habitually pollute it; and do not rebuke this sin?  and then they go and persecute those who do want to keep the Sabbath holy?

Today’s COG Groups persecute the godly righteous and justify their own sins.  They call evil good, and they call the holy evil!  Then they wonder why they have no power to overcome.

They have lost their footing and have built their spiritual house on the shifting sands of the false doctrines of a men (Mat 7).

Love for the keeping of the Word of God has gone cold and has been replaced with a hot zeal for the words of our idols of men; this mix makes them lukewarm and disgusting in the mouth of Jesus Christ.

They have a kind of form or appearance of godliness to the unconverted eye; but they lack the substance of zeal to live by every Word of God!

They embrace the sinner who loves them more than they love God, and they reject the godly!  When we are commanded to reject the sinner and embrace the godly!

1 Corinthians 5:11  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Today the COG is full of sin, because we think ourselves wiser than the Word of God!  It is for this cause that we will be rejected by Jesus Christ and thrown into the furnace of correction.

Brethren put out all sin from among you and be pure from all sin, as God is pure from all sin.

Leviticus 11:44  For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:

1 Peter 1:15   But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation [conduct]; 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
