115: The Meaning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread

When we take a view of the earth from a distance and see it as God sees it; we find an awesome blue jewel in a beautiful setting of black space surrounded by the glittering diamonds of stars.

As we come closer we see the earth’s mighty  mountains, sheltered valleys and fruitful plains; its lush forests, meadows and grasslands; it vast seas, surging rivers and many lakes!

Then as we come to the earth, we see it is populated by many creatures from the vast array of birds, to land animals and fishes; each species capable of variety, yet established within its limitations; as a dog no matter the breed, is instantly recognizable as a dog; and a man no matter the differences is still a man!

We find the horse, the elephant and the ox in their strength; and the butterfly and many flowers in their beauty, how marvelous is God’s creation!

Think on the eagle and the hummingbird; the doe and the lion, the trout and the tuna, the coconut tree or the elm tree; think on the immense variety, the vastness and the tremendous beauty of the creation; from the stars in the universe to the microbes in a drop of water!

The Creator is greater than his creation!  How is it that some claiming to be the people of God; follow their own imaginations and have no zeal for the Word of God?

Who are you oh man, that you think yourself wiser; than the Father, or the Son the Great Creator?

Then consider that the Creator God made this universe for man!

God made man to set him on this earth to learn and to grow to become like God the Father, and to ultimately be  changed to spirit; to inherit the creation of God and be with God as the children of God forever!

What marvelous love is this; that God the Father through his Son, created the universe for man; and then gave his only begotten Son to redeem men from the slavery of sin!

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

What manner of love is this; that the Eternal Father should command the Son to create the universe and all that is in it, and then give the life of the Lamb for man?

Psalm 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

David was inspired when he looked up at the boundless splendor of God’s creation and understood that God has a great purpose in all he plans.

The prophet Isaiah was in awe over the things that he, too, could behold in God’s creation; that reveal God’s greatness and majesty in both heaven and earth.

Isaiah tells us that not only did God create the billions of stars in the universe, He also knows each one by name.

Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

The heavens are something that we can see, and we can wonder at the vastness and the majesty of the starry sky, but as glorious as the heavens are, God’s glory is even higher and it was He who created the whole universe with its dazzling brightness and brillant beauty. It is said in another place, in this  psalm of praise:

Psalms 113:4 The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

God the Father’s glory is awesome in greatness and we were created to become the son’s of God!!!

1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God….

God created all that is on this earth [presently degenerated from the original] in six days and the Creator rested on the seventh day after a completed physical creation.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

The weekly Sabbath [seventh] day is the capstone of the physical creation. God completed the physical creation in six days, and rested and commanded men to rest and spend time with him on the seventh day; and to come before him on the seventh day forever.

To observe the seventh day Sabbath [Friday sunset to Saturday sunset], is an act of obedience to God and it is an acknowledgment of the sovereignty of God as Creator of all things including man.

The physical creation of all things as they have been on the earth for the past six thousand years was accomplished by God in six literal days, and God sanctified [Set Apart for holy use] the seventh literal day, to create the week and the weekly Sabbath.

The weekly Sabbath is a memorial of the physical creation and a time for physical man to spend resting from his physical pursuits, to spend time in spiritual pursuits, learning the ways of his Creator.

The weekly Sabbath day is a memorial of the physical creation and is a time to acknowledge the Creator of all physical things and to learn of and about God.

The physical creation week is a forerunner and type of a spiritual creation week, which is revealed in the ANNUAL Feast of Unleavened Bread.

The Festival of Unleavened Bread adds the spiritual aspect to the physical creation week, of spiritual deliverance from and victory over bondage to sin.

As the weekly Sabbath is a memorial of the physical creation, the Feast of Unleavened Bread being an annual Festival expands the concept from the weekly “days” to millennia in meaning, and adds the concept of victory over bondage to sin and Satan, and the creation of a spiritual people.

While the weekly Sabbath day is a memorial of a physical creation; the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a memorial of the exodus from bondage in Egypt, as a Symbolic type and a prophecy of deliverance from bondage to sin and the SPIRITUAL CREATION of a godly people.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread journey out of physical Egypt is an allegory about the New Covenant person’s journey out of sin and the creation of a new spiritual being in Christ, through the putting out of the leaven of sin, and the internalizing of the very mind and nature of God the Father.

The annual seven days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is an allegory of seven thousand years in which God has been calling out a kind of early first fruits of the New Covenant.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

For six thousand years since righteous Abel God has been calling out a kind of early fist fruits of the New Covenant as witnessed by the many who were given God’s Spirit during that time like Moses, Joshua, Noah, Abel, Job, David, Elijah, John Baptist, Jesus Christ and so many others.

They will be resurrected at the end of the  sixth day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread as pictured by Israel coming up out of the Red Sea [a type of the grave] at the end of the sixth day of Unleavened Bread.

Then the seventh day, the last day of that Feast, is a High Holy Day Sabbath which represents a millennial rest, during which time Satan is restrained and the Lamb of God will reside on the earth with humanity; and during that one thousand years all of humanity then living will also be added to the early harvest of first fruits.

After which we come to the Fall Festivals, and the resurrection and harvest into the Family of God, of all those who have ever lived before not having been a part of the early harvest of first fruits.

The High Holy Day, seventh day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread pictures a seventh day millennial rest, and the climax of the spiritual creation of the early harvest of first fruits.

The weekly seventh day is a day of rest from physical activities to spend with our God, learning of him. The seventh day High Holy Day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, pictures a millennial Sabbath of rest with our Creator, ruling over the whole earth for a thousand years!

As we rest with God and spend our time with our Creator to learn of him each weekly Sabbath; so we shall rest from the struggle against the king of sin, Satan who will be restrained during that time, for a millennial Sabbath of rest in the presence of our God learning of Him and the way to peace and life everlasting.

Paul tells that there remains yet a Sabbath of rest for the people of God; and this could not be the weekly Sabbath, because it is still future!

Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Israel, on the first High Holy Day; marched out of Egypt with a high hand; picturing the beginning of their deliverance by God, as a type of the beginning of a spiritual creation!

Then on the sixth day they crossed the Red Sea and rising up on the other side near the end of the day symbolized rising up from the grave in resurrection from the dead.

The seventh day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is an Annual High Holy Day of rejoicing over deliverance from the bondage of sin and the grave; and at a day for a thousand years represents a millennial Sabbath of rest.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Physical Israel in Egypt and their deliverance out of bondage in Egypt is an instructional analogy of a kind of first fruits being Called Out from bondage to sin!

As Israel journeyed out of Egypt for six days and was delivered at the end of the sixth day to then enjoy an annual High Holy Day Sabbath of rest, with Pharaoh no longer chasing them; that Sabbath of rest was ON the Seventh day of ULB!

Even so God has been Calling Out a kind of early first fruits since righteous Abel until the very end of six thousand years! To be followed by a resurrection to spirit of the chosen; and a millennial Sabbath of rest for all humanity with our Maker; and Satan of which pharaoh was a type, removed for that 1,000 year High Day Sabbath.

As these people marched out of Egypt on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, they were commanded to observe that day as an Annual Anniversary Holy Day marking their “CALLING OUT” of Egypt, it pictures the beginning of God’s plan to spiritually “CALL OUT” a kind of early first fruits from this world of bondage to sin and their journey out of sin!

As the weekly seventh day Sabbath pictures a weekly rest with the Creator of a physical people, the High Holy Day Sabbath of rest on the seventh day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread pictures a millennial Sabbath of rest in the presence of the Creator [and in the absence of Satan the true pharaoh of sin] with a spiritual people; and the New Covenant of promise (Jer 31:31) extended to all humanity!!

Since the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a Holy Day; why is the first day of the week not a Holy Day? Because the first day of the week refers to the beginning of a physical creation; while the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread refers to the beginning of a spiritual creation!

The physical creation was completed in SIX days and God and man rested on the seventh day. As the physical creation was completed at the end of six days, the spiritual creation must also be COMPLETED at the end of the SIXTH day; while both the physical and the spiritual creation are capped by a Sabbath of rest with God.

Brethren, we KNOW that there was a physical creation in six days and that God rested WITH his creation at the completion of the physical creation; on the seventh day!

We know that the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a type of a spiritual creation to be completed in six days [six thousand years] to be followed by a thousand year millennial Sabbath.

This all happened as a lesson for us, for the first day was to teach us that God began his spiritual creation on the first day [at the very beginning with righteous Abel] for which reason Israel did not wait until the morning but marched out of Egypt at sunset beginning the first day, at the very beginning of the Feast!

This teaches us that God began calling out his first fruits of a spiritual creation at the very beginning of a seven thousand year plan!

This explains the possession of God’s Spirit by so many of the ancients [given in FAITH, BEFORE the death of Christ] who have obeyed God in faith and are now waiting for that Millennial Sabbath of rest referred to by Paul in Hebrews 11, and the many others not mentioned specifically by Paul.

Were not Abel, Enoch, Moses, Elijah, Noah, Jeremiah, Ezra and so many thousands of others called out from the very beginning of the past six thousand years? Called out in FAITH that Jesus Christ WOULD complete his mission? While we who are in Christ now, must have faith that Jesus Christ DID successfully complete his mission? There is absolutely NO contradiction in this; for the Just shall LIVE BY FAITH; regardless of when they are called!

As the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is holy, showing the beginning of God’s spiritual creation; the seventh day is also holy; because it represents the completion of the creation of the spiritual first fruits and a millennial Sabbath of rest without Satan and in the presence of our Creator.

We see that Israel marched out of Egypt on the first day; and crossing that Sea of Death on the sixth day and marching out of Death at the end of the sixth day; in a type of resurrection; to begin the Holy Seventh Day of rest with our Creator!

We see that the armies of Pharaoh were destroyed at the end of the sixth day; as Satan will be bound at the end of the six thousand years; bound for the seventh one thousand years!

We see that the First High Day of Unleavened Bread pictures the beginning of God’s calling out of Egypt; AND the beginning of his Calling Out of a kind of spiritual first fruits from this world.

Israel coming out of Egypt is an instructive analogy that God has been calling out a kind of first fruits from the very beginning; as a spiritual creation.

The physical creation was completed in six days, and a spiritual spring harvest will be completed in six thousand years; and BOTH are then followed by a Sabbath of Rest with our Maker.

These things are a matter of spiritual discernment; by understanding that God is consistent and is teaching us the same message in different ways!

The High Days and Festivals were not made because of any historical event! No, rather God brought the historical events about to provide us with practical object lessons to help us tounderstand spiritual things!

The Seventh Day Annual High Day of ULB represents a Millennial Sabbath of rest with our God: AFTER the completion of the calling out [for 6,000 years] of the early first fruits from bondage to sin!

And because that Millennium begins at the end of six thousand years; and Israel came up out of the sea at the end of the sixth day: and because the analogy is perfect and complete; the resurrection of the chosen first fruits will take place at the end of the sixth day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the Appointed Year.

How can we prove this conclusively? When the final miracle working false prophet is set up in Rome, he will have 1290 days to the resurrection and a maximum of 1,335 days before he is destroyed at Christ’s coming; therefore if he is set up in the autumn we will know that the resurrection will be in the spring!

Coming Out of Spiritual Egypt

This issue is vital to understand, in order to understand the prophetic symbolism of that crossing: so let us first go through the basics of what is already known and then apply them to the prophetic significance.

Israel on the first High Holy Day, marched out of Egypt with a high hand; picturing the beginning of their Deliverance by God, picturing the beginning of a spiritual creation!

Israel is an analogy of an early calling out of a few from this world and bondage to sin for six thousand years beginning with Righteous Abel!  To be followed by the resurrection at the end of the six thousand years and a millennial Sabbath of rest with our Creator in the absence of the Adversary!

As Israel journeyed out of Egypt for six days and was delivered up from the Red Sea at the end of the sixth day to then enjoy a Sabbath of rest, that Sabbath of rest was the Seventh day of ULB!

Even so, God has been Calling Out a kind of first fruits since righteous Abel until the very end of six thousand years!  To be followed by a resurrection to spirit of the chosen; to a millennial Sabbath of rest with their Maker.

As these people marched out of Egypt on the first day and were commanded to observe a Holy Day marking their “CALLING OUT” of Egypt, it pictures the beginning of God’s plan to spiritually ”CALL OUT” an elect from this world and their journey out of sin!

As we are commanded to observe a Holy Day Sabbath of rest on the seventh day of the Feast of ULB;  it pictures a millennial Sabbath of rest in the presence of the Creator; of a spiritual people; as the seventh day Sabbath pictures a weekly rest with the Creator of a physical people.

We have been taught and have taught, that the physical creation was completed in SIX days and that God and man rested on the seventh day. Now we must understand that the spiritual creation must also be COMPLETED on the SIXTH day [at the end of six thousand years]; with a millennial rest on the seventh day of the week.

Brethren, we KNOW that there was a physical creation in six days and that God rested with his creation on the seventh day! And that is a type of a spiritual creation to be completed in six days [thousand years] to be followed by a millennial Sabbath of rest and peace in the presence of God and the absence of Satan.

How is it that we cannot understood that the people came out of Egypt on the First High Day of the Feast, by reason of which the first day is holy; and that this pictures the Father calling out a people beginning with Abel for six thousand years?

This all happened as a lesson for us, for the first day was not holy because they came out of Egypt for the sole reason of an historic record; but to teach us that God began his spiritual creation on the first day [at the very beginning with righteous Abel], for which reason Israel marched out of Egypt at sunset beginning the first day, at its very beginning!

To teach us that God began calling out his first fruits of a spiritual creation at the very beginning of a seven thousand year plan!

If this is not true: Explain the possession of God’s Spirit by so many of the ancients [given in FAITH, BEFORE the death of Christ] who have obeyed God in faith and are now waiting for that Sabbath of rest referred to by Paul in Hebrews 11, and the many others not mentioned specifically by Paul.

Were not Abel, Enoch, Moses, David, Elijah, Elisha, Noah, Jeremiah, Ezra and so many thousands of others called out from the very beginning of the past six thousand years? Called out in FAITH that Jesus Christ WOULD complete his mission? While we who are in Christ now must have faith that Jesus Christ DID successfully complete his mission? There is absolutely NO contradiction in this; for the Just shall LIVE BY FAITH; regardless of when they are called!

As the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is holy, showing the beginning of God’s spiritual creation; the seventh day is also holy; because it represents a millennial Sabbath of rest without Satan and in the presence of our Creator.

As the physical creation was completed in six days; and the spiritual creation is completed in six days [thousand years]; the march out of Egypt was completed in six days as an analogy of the spiritual creation of a spiritual first fruits for God!

We see that Israel marched out of Egypt on the first day; entering that Sea of Death on the morning of the sixth day and marching out of Death at the end of the sixth day; in a type of resurrection; to begin the Holy Seventh Day of rest with our Creator!

We see that the armies of Pharaoh are destroyed at the end of the sixth day; as Satan is bound at the beginning of the millennial Sabbath!

We see that the First High Day of Unleavened Bread pictures the beginning of God’s calling out of Egypt; AND the beginning of his Calling Out of a kind of first fruits from this world in the days of Abel.

Israel coming out of Egypt, is an instructive analogy that God has been calling out a kind of first fruits from the very beginning as a spiritual creation.

The physical creation, was completed in six days, and a spiritual spring harvest was completed in  six thousand years; and BOTH are then followed by a Sabbath of Rest with our Maker.

These things are a matter of spiritual discernment; by understanding that God is consistent and is teaching us the same message in different ways!

The High Days and Festivals were not made because of any historical event!  No, rather they were made to teach us spiritual truths; and then the historical events were brought about by God, to provide us with practical object lessons to help us understand those spiritual things!

They did not cross the sea on the seventh day; and the seventh day is NOT a Sabbath because they crossed the sea on that day!

The Seventh day High Day of ULB represents a Millennial Sabbath of rest with our God: AFTER the completion of the calling out [for 6,000 years] of spiritual Egypt of the first fruits!

And because that Millennium begins at the end of six thousand years; and Israel came up out of the sea at the end of the sixth day: and because the analogy is perfect and complete; the resurrection of the chosen first fruits will take place at the end of the sixth day of Unleavened Bread in the Appointed Year.

How can we prove this conclusively? When the final false prophet is set up, he will have a maximum of 1,335 days; Therefore if he is set up in the autumn we will know that the resurrection will be in the spring.

The Final Coming Out of Egypt!

With the blood of the lamb on their door posts, Israel ate and internalized the lamb along with unleavened bread and wine.

Having come under that sacrifice of the lamb, they then left Egypt with a high hand and great rejoicing.

At the end of the third day’s journey they became entrapped between the mountains and the sea; and caught in that cul de sac, Pharaoh saw his opportunity to exact a bloody revenge and pursued them.

When Israel turned south on the third day and came to Pihahirioth, Then Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he began to pursue Israel, arriving on the fifth day!

Exodus 14:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 14:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn [change direction from going to the border] and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea. 14:3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.  14:4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

The people then feared exceedingly as they saw the army approaching on the fifth day and God moved the cloud between them and the pursuing army to protect the called out.

All that night of the fifth day, the wind blew dividing the sea; and in the morning the people entered the sea, crossing and rising out of the sea as the sixth day ended.

They then began rejoicing greatly as they saw that the army could not follow, having been destroyed in the sea.

Then as the sun set and the Sabbath of Rest and Rejoicing began: Moses sang a victory song to the Eternal.

Please consider the words in the context of a resurrection to spirit of the saints and their victory given by God over the evil of this world [spiritual Egypt]. You will see that the words are absolutely applicable, and that this Song of Moses being sung in heaven at the resurrection of the saints is no error, but links the final Coming Out of physical Israel from Egypt with the final Coming Out of the world of the saints on the very same day!

Exodus 14:9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon. 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. 14:11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 14:12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. 14:14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

14:15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: 14:16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.14:17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen. 14:18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

14:19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: 14:20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.

14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. 14:22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. 14:23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

14:24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, 14:25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

14:26 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen. 14:27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. 14:28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

14:29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. 14:30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

These things were done, not just as an historical deliverance with a prophetic application; but so that ALL Israel might learn that the Eternal IS GOD ALMIGHTY, and beside him there is NO OTHER!

Brethren, these things were done FOR US; that we might also know that the Eternal is God Almighty indeed; and beside him there is NO OTHER!

This is as much about FAITH and trust in the power of our God to deliver, as it is about anything else!

When persecution or trials come our way; we MUST trust and rely upon our Great God and GO FORWARD in HIS ways; not compromising no matter what the physical cost, that we may deliver ourselves in the resurrection to spirit at the end of the sixth day.

If we are not zealous to follow the whole Word of God now, very many of us will soon have to sincerely repent in the furnace of real affliction. Indeed, who can say that if we sin today, we will not die tonight? Our focus is always to be on the things of God and not on the things of this world.

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? 12:21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.12:22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

Exodus 14:31 And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

All of the Called Out from Abel to the present, are waiting for God to fulfill his promise of a resurrection to spirit. If they were faithful DOERS of God’s will as expressed in his commandments; if they will NOT compromise with sin; if they have trusted in the Eternal and rooted out every trace of the leaven of sin through his strength: They shall rise up out of the Sea of Death [The grave] at the end of the sixth day of Unleavened Bread, the end of the first six thousand years of the plan of God!

They shall then participate in the marriage of the Lamb, while the seven last plagues are poured out; and shall then come WITH Christ to receive their inheritance at the end of the 1,335 days (Dan 12:13).

They shall rejoice before the Father and shall sing the song of Moses and of the Lamb:

Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

The mark of the beast has existed since Satan taught the first person to rebel against God!

The mark of the beast is the mark or sign of Satan; it is REBELLION against the word and commandments of God; it IS compromise with God’s law!

Many, perhaps most in the Ekklesia today; have the mark of the beast!  For they are full of compromise with God’s law and idolize men, which is idolatry!

15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

15:4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

This is the same song that Moses sang in rejoicing over the deliverance out of Egypt!

The VICTORY SONG over deliverance from the Egypt of bondage to sin, and a resurrection out of the Sea of Death!

Spiritually it is the song of rejoicing at the resurrection of the bride and the marriage of the Lamb in heaven, which is the New (marriage) Covenant iu its fullness as we are  now only espoused to Christ.

Oh what a great rejoicing in Israel on that Seventh Day of Unleavened Bread! Oh what a fantastic millennium of rejoicing the chosen saints will have as they bring the remaining harvest of first fruits into the family of God, in the very presence of the Creator himself!

Now this Moses was the mediator of the covenant called by his name and was a type of Christ the ONLY MEDIATOR of the New Covenant. Christ is the Way and the Door to salvation and the resurrection of the dead to spirit.

John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Only by following HIM “withersoever he goeth” will any person be chosen to have a part on the coming resurrection to spirit.

Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

We should also remember that Daniel was told; not once, but twice; that the prophecies were sealed until the end; and that at the end; knowledge would increase, Dan 12. Many think that it was only physical knowledge which was to increase and that certainly has happened; however the clear context is spiritual knowledge and particularly an understanding of the sealed matters.

The High Holy Days are prophetic and therefore could not be fully understood until the end of the age; for they like the other prophecies were sealed; until there was a genuine need to know.

The Spring Festivals are a kind of foundation for the Fall Festivals and to properly understand the Fall Festivals it is important to remember the profound meaning of the Early or Spring Festivals.

We all should understand that the Passover is a type of the sacrifice of the Lamb of God for his creation. The Passover lamb being identified with the Creator who died for his creation, his people (1 Cor 5:7). The blood of that Passover lamb covering  and protecting them from the destroyer in Egypt; was a symbol of the blood of the Creator which atones for the sin of the sincerely repentant people and protects them from the ultimate destruction in the lake of fire.

Only Almighty God is able to destroy both body and spirit in the lake of fire,

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. [gehenna]

The Passover lamb was eaten; showing that we must internalize the true Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ. We must turn from disobeying the Father and internalize the attitude of Jesus Christ who did obey his Father (John 13:10). We must become like him, allowing him to dwell within us through the agency of the spirit of God. Besides becoming a sacrifice, he also set us an example that we should walk [live] as he walked [lived],

1 John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

On the Wave Offering day, the resurrected Christ ascended to the Father to “be accepted for us” (Lev 23:10-14). At the moment that his sacrifice was accepted by God the Father; he became a High Priest forever, after the order of Melchesidek.  He became our High Priest, the ONLY mediator between men and God,

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; and he became the mediator of the New Covenant through the sprinkling of his blood,

Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling

During the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Jesus Christ is pictured as the Unleavened Bread of Life (Joh 6:33, 6:35, 6:48 and 6:51). And leavening representing any type of sin.

The Unleavened Bread is a symbol of the purity and freedom from sin of Jesus Christ, and the eating of this Unleavened Bread each day pictures our need to internalize the true Bread of Life; Jesus Christ: day by day.

The seven days of the Unleavened Bread Festival, shows that for six thousand years God has been calling out a kind of first fruits; starting with righteous Abel and including all the ancient men of God; until the resurrection of first fruits at the end of the sixth day; and a Sabbath of rest or millennium on the seventh day.

The first day is a High Holy Day, since it pictures the beginning of the calling Out of God’s plan with Abel; and remembers Israel’s beginning departure from Egypt as an allegory of the beginning of God’s plan.

And the seventh day is a High Holy Day, because it pictures a Sabbath of rest and victory for Israel after they had passed through the Red Sea and Pharaoh armies had been destroyed; as an allegory of a Millennial Sabbath of rest for the whole earth; with Satan removed and man at peace in the presence of his Creator.

Remember that the first fruits resurrection must be in the Spring because a Spring Harvest MUST be reaped in the Spring.  If it is reaped in the Fall, it would be a Fall Harvest; and not a Spring Harvest! Any farm boy can tell you that!

The Feast of Weeks [Pentecost] shows an expansion of the New Covenant of first fruits, as all who live during that Millennial Sabbath of one thousand years will be called into God’s family and his Spirit will be poured out on ALL FLESH, Joel 2:28: The millennial  Kingdom of God extends the New Covenant to all humanity.

This pouring out of God’s Spirit happened only in part on that first century Pentecost; and will happen in its fullness on a Feast of Pentecost in the near future; officially beginning the millennium and the Kingdom of God!

This Pentecost Feast always falls on the day after a weekly seventh day Sabbath. The eighth day always pictures a NEW BEGINNING; and in the case of Pentecost the day after the Sabbath, is also the fiftieth day and pictures a new beginning in the kingdom of God!

THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD

We know that after the Creator worked for six days producing the present earth and all that is on it; that he rested on the seventh day and hallowed it [made it holy].  Setting it apart as a weekly from other days as a special day for men to rest from their labors and spend time with their Maker.

It has long been understood that the weekly Sabbath pictured a six thousand year period when men would be largely separated from God, to be followed by a millennial Sabbath of rest for the earth.  In that sense the weekly Sabbath is a regular reminder not only of creation, but of a coming millennial rest for the creation (Heb 4).

After the Passover on the 14th day of the first month in Egypt, the people were thrust out of the land, and during the daylight portion of that day spent the remainder of the 14th taking wages of the Egyptians and gathering together; actually leaving the land as the sun set, beginning the 15th day of the first month,

Exodus 12:33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men. 12:34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

12:35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: 12:36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. 12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.

As the Passover was to be a memorial forever, so this night is to be remembered forever.

Exodus12:42  It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

This evening ending the 14th day and starting the 15th day is the beginning of the seven day Feast of Unleavened Bread.

Exodus 12:18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.

12:19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land. 12:20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

Moses wrote the five books over forty years and he sometimes used different wording in the different books. The understanding comes through the context

When the context is Passover he is talking about the beginning of the 14th day; this is made clear, Numbers 28:16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the passover of the LORD. 17And in the fifteenth day of this month is the feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.

.When he speaks of the 14th at even, in the context of Unleavened Bread, he is speaking about the evening ending the 14th day.

What does this 14th day at even mean? it means the start of the 15th day.

Leviticus 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 23:7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile [menial] work therein. 23:8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile [work of ANY kind] work therein.

We then have a period of seven days during which unleavened bread must be eaten each day; the first and last days being Holy Convocations upon which no work may be done.  On the intermediate days work related to keeping the Feast may be done; that is acquiring food, cooking, preparing clean clothes etc. just like the intermediate days of Tabernacles.

The various Commentaries have taught that this Festival refers to our deliverance from sin at Passover and our coming out of sin [Egypt] and that these seven days show the believers walk with Christ; replacing the leaven of sin with the holiness of the Unleavened Bread of Life. That teaching is quite true as far as it goes.

We MUST indeed reject the leaven of sin, 1 Corinthians  5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

It has been taught for as long as I can remember that the first day is Holy because it represents the “coming out” of Egypt [of sin] and that the seventh day is Holy because it pictures final deliverance through the Red Sea. This is partly true and partly false.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread does picture the need to reject ALL sin and to fill ourselves with the very nature of Christ with the Unleavened Bread of Life. And since this is a direct command of God as well, it IS a sin to fail to do so when we have the means to do so.

Obviously if we are being imprisoned and this is withheld from us, or there is some other terrible circumstance, God understands that the situation is not one that we want, but one imposed on us. Further, we are responsible for what we know, many faithful martyrs in the Middle Ages etc who may not have known these things are still God’s elect.

What do the seven days of Unleavened Bread mean in their prophetic context?

Yes the Unleavened Bread pictures the purity of Christ from all sin; and our need to become pure from all sin like him!  Yet, there is far more to the Feast of ULB!

Many tens of thousands have been “Called Out” and been given God’s spirit BEFORE the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and that Pentecost in 31 A.D.. That requires an explanation!

The Father began to “Call Out” some to be a part of the coming New Covenant from the very beginning; he did so in FAITH that Christ would come and die for the sins of humanity!

Turn to Heb 11 and read of these people. They were called in faith by the Father, who believed that the Creator would succeed in living a sinless life and atone for his creation! The people called by the God Father in FAITH; also believed and had FAITH in the promises of God!

When Christ was successful and did live a sinless life, then dying to atone for sin and afterward being resurrected and ascending to the Father; He was accepted “for us”; as a propitiation for our sins; and made our Intercessor and High Priest.

The faith of the Father and those ancients that God the Father had called them, was justified by the WORKS of Jesus Christ.  Faith without works is dead and meaningless; for if Jesus Christ had not fulfilled his promises by his works where would we be?  Yes, FAITH is essential, but FAITH must be married with WORKS!

The seven days of Unleavened Bread have the same [somewhat expanded] meaning as the seven days of the week!

They speak of a seven thousand year plan to remove sin from a “Called Out” first fruits!  The first day being Holy because it shows the very BEGINNING of God’s  plan; with the calling of righteous Abel!  The first six days showing the removing of sin and the placing of the very nature of God within the “Called Out” of the Father.

Otherwise; why would David and Abraham and so many others have any part in the resurrection of the first fruits?  They were also called to be a part of the first fruits of God; in FAITH from the very beginning!  Now we understand from the seven day week that there were six days of creative activity to be followed by a Sabbath of rest.

We should also be able to see that the first six days of Unleavened Bread picture a six thousand year spiritual CREATIVE PROCESS of the Father “Calling Out” first fruits to become part of the bride of the Lamb!

The seventh and last Holy Day of the Feast of ULB pictures a millennial Sabbath of rest!

The first Holy Day of ULB pictures the beginning of God’s plan to remove sin and replace sin with the unleavened purity of Christ, in the called out first fruits.  The first six days of the Unleavened Bread Feast  pictures the six thousand years during which the Father is “Calling Out” and purifying his saints. The seventh and last Holy Day pictures a Sabbath of millennial rest and is therefore Holy.

There is a critical error now being taught by some which interferes with our understanding.  It has been taught that Israel crossed the Red Sea on the seventh day of Unleavened Bread.

No, they journeyed into the wilderness and on the end of the sixth day were delivered as they came up out of the Red Sea, and the sea closed back upon the Egyptians!

When Israel turned south on the third day and came to Pihahirioth.  Then Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he began to pursue Israel, arriving on the fifth day!

The wind blew all night after sunset ending the fifth day; and during the sixth day the people crossed through the Sea, completing the crossing before sunset. They then rejoiced over their deliverance on the seventh day, having entered a typical rest from Egypt and sin.

That is why the Song of Moses was sung at their deliverance and will be sung again at the resurrection of the saints (Ex 15:1-19 and Rev 15:3). Please go and read the victory song of Moses after finishing this post. see the mighty victory given by God and then consider the mighty victory over Satan and death to come at the resurrection!

There two  different songs of Moses on two different occasions;  the other song of Moses is in Deu 32.

Again the understanding should be according to the CONTEXT: Which song was sung at the Red Sea and In heaven? Ex 15:1-19 and Rev 15:3!!! The SAME Song in BOTH places!!!

Exodus 15:1 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.  Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

1 Corinthians 10 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea 10:2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea 10:3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat [grain offering unleavened bread]; 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

The passing through the sea was a type of baptism, and baptism is a type of death and resurrection!

The Festival of Unleavened Bread pictures a six thousand year process of “Calling Out” and perfecting the Called Out, or rejecting those who fail to overcome; followed by a resurrection out of the sea of death to a new life and a thousand year Millennial Sabbath of rest in the presence of Jesus Christ.
