UCG NEWS: Victor Kubik wrote that UCG is “Christian,” distancing UCG from the Armstrong COG groups, and claiming that UCG follows Christ, not a man.
“Unlike organizations that look to a founder who is long gone [James: an obvious dig at those who idolize HWA], we look to Jesus Christ as the Living Head of the Church who works in the lives of His followers: “And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).
We are a Christian church, meaning that we identify with Jesus Christ,”
In reality they have spent the last few years replacing the real Jesus with a false evangelical Christ of the Tkach evangelical mold, and this statement is part of the effort to prepare the elders and brethren for the coming changes away from those teachings considered to be HWA teachings and back into the Tkach evangelical errors.
I certainly do not say that HWA had all truth, but these folks are not moving towards truth, they are rushing headlong into gross error.
The Doctrinal Committee has been devoting “endless hours” to developing new positions on prophecy.
Aaron Dean is denying the many persistent reports that UCG will be abandoning its British Israel teaching. Of course Aaron continually denied that Joe Tkach was making any changes as well.
In addition, UCG may be changing from the Armstrong position that the first half of the 70th week was fulfilled in the first century, and accept the evangelical position that there will be 3 1/2 years AFTER a peace deal is made in the Middle East (1 Thess 5:3), BEFORE the tribulation begins. This gross evangelical error was taught by Joe Tkach and has been swallowed by Bob Thiel, LCG and COGWA.
The UCG CoE plan to change the method for changing their list of “Fundamental Beliefs. will have this effect. If they have 400 elders, it now takes an affirmative vote of 300 to change any teaching on the list. In future since about one third normally do not vote, the new plan will require only 75% of the actual votes to pass an item, or 225 votes by the 400 demonstration number.
After twenty years they are not making this change for nothing; changes are coming down the pike in both prophetic teachings and the Fundamental Beliefs List which will require GCE approval. For years they have called me a false witness, and they have repeatedly lied that no changes were coming while simultaneously re-examining all of their teachings and re-writing many of them.
Robin Webber, Vik Kubik and John Elliot conferred in Seattle land John will be moving to Canada to take over British Columbia when the legalities are ironed out. UCG elders and leaders across Canada are aging rapidly and Eliot will make sure that new elders and leaders to the liking of the Webber, Kubik, Elliot gang [Tkach gang] are brought in.
Bob Fahey died on Sep 28th 2015. Bill Bradford, Jr. will become interim pastor of Chicago.
Roy Holladay will no longer be able to perform his duties after his stroke. For the short term his duties will be shared between Chris Rowland, Peter Eddington, Aaron Dean and Robin Webber.
A public appearance campaign will be held next week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston, respectively. Our team will leave here by van on Sunday; Peter Eddington, Darris McNeely, Steve Myers and I [V. Kubik] will fly down to Dallas on Monday. The campaign will be held in Dallas (Oct. 20), San Antonio (Oct. 22) and Houston (Oct. 25). Good News subscribers in all three cities (8,100 of them) have received three invitation letters and reminders to attend the event. In addition, ads have been running on Pandora (1.5 million impressions), Google search advertising (1.5 million impressions), via an e-mail campaign (625,000 people), on Facebook and more. So far, we have 400 guests registered to attend, and our brethren from each congregation will also be in attendance.
